Typhoon just went out from the Philippine area of responsibility. But it left a devastating blow in Leyte’s farm lands.
Some of our pastors who were living in farm land areas were badly affected by typhoon Frank. Hundreds of hectares of rice fields were deeply flooded. One testimony of our outreach pastor was that many of their livestock drowned due to the deep flash flood. Even his pig that is supposed to be sold the following day was swallowed by raging water.
The Church building of one of our outreaches was badly damaged due to soil erosion. Only half of that building was left after a mass of soil gave up beside the hill were it stood and covered it.
Our brethrens basically needs some basic assistance for the rehabilitation of their farm lands and livestock. And the more that they need your prayers.
If our outreach pastors were greatly affected, our brothers in Ormoc City also suffer to high price of agricultural products. Both the prices of vegetables and fish went up. Even the price of chicken and pork went up still due to the typhoon. We are trying our best though to extend some help for our brethrens in the field. Unfortunately, it is not enough to get them back on their tracks for we are also suffering from this crisis and hardships.
In my own judgment, the cost of living in Ormoc City went as high as of that cost of living in Manila. With a lower rate of salary than that of Manila, it then more difficult for us to buy basic needs.
We do hope and pray that things will get back to normal after several weeks.
We however, covet your prayers that continuous rains will not further damage our lands. We would just want to ask 2 minutes of prayer from you. Thank you very much.
May the Lord bless you all as you show your love to us by prayers!!!
